Disciples Plan
I am really excited about all the blessings that we have been receiving in the past months.  The year of 2007 has been a successful one for Greene County Habitat for Humanity.  We completed the Davis Street Project and the new homeowners are now enjoying their new home.  Our Board of Directors increased in numbers, new and dynamic blood is permeating the leadership of the organization, Committees have been commissioned to work in their respective areas, many Community Volunteers have helped us in different projects, Businesses, Organizations, and Churches have become partners with us, the house that was donated by the Bible Family is currently being rehabilitated, we received a substantial financial donation that has allowed us to begin building a new house on Cherokee Blvd. in Mosheim.  All this, through the grace of our Lord.

For a long time, one of my personal challenges has been to engage congregations to partnership with Greene County Habitat.  After praying and diligently seeking for an answer from the Lord, it happened He answered my prayers and gave me a plan.

Outreach Missions Ministries for some congregations requires a complex, detailed and dedicated effort, especially when the project will take place outside of the community or sometimes outside our State.  Sometimes, the "local" outreach ministry is non-existent.  With this new plan, your congregation can still continue blessing other communities/countries and it still can reach Greene County's families.

If you have a small congregation you can also expand your "Helps Ministry."  The Disciples Plan is designed to allow all the churches who desire to partnership with us to have the opportunity to do so.  Churches who want to continue having outreach missions in other places/countries do not need to stop their plans.  Smaller congregations that have thought about helping Greene County Habitat, but were afraid of not having the financial resources, now can partnership with us too.

We are looking for one hundred churches in Greene County that are willing to partnership with us in providing a house for a needy family.  For a minimum donation of $12.00 a week you can become a partner with us.   Yes, only $12.00 a week!  For less than $1.75 a day you can help build the next house for a needy family in our county.  One hundred churches committing themselves to donate $12.00 a week can make it happen.

It is a simple plan.  You can help a needy family in Greene County to move into a simple, decent and affordable house.  It may even be a blessing for one of the families in your congregation.  Through the Disciples Plan, we can guarantee (based on construction material prices) enough money to build houses for as long as one hundred churches remain committed to this effort.

Please, pray about it.  I am sure that the Lord will lead you into a new adventure and blessing.

If you would like to hear more about the Disciples Plan, you can contact me at the Administrative Office and I will be glad to take some time and meet with you.  I also want to remind you that Greene County Habitat has other programs and ways in which your church can partnership with us.

In the love of Christ,
